Sponsor a Child
WCMA's "Sponsor a Child" Program, among other charity sponsorship programs, provides Christian donors, volunteers and philanthropists an opportunity to help eradicate poverty, effects of war, famine, injustice and inequities among Christian children and families. You can designate your Christian charity to any one or more of WCMA's eight sponsorship programs as well as become a WCMA Volunteer.
When you sponsor a Christian child, WCMA will provide you with a photo and updates on how your donations are being utilized/invested to help your sponsored child.
How does sponsorship work?
When you make a gift, your contributions are pooled with that of other sponsors of children in the community where your child lives. Your child receives health care, education, nutritious food via cooperatives, and the entire community benefits from access to clean water, agricultural assistance, medical care, and more.
The goal of WCMA's Sponsor a Child program is to equip your child and his or her community to become perpetually self-sustaining. That means your sponsorship will last for many years. When your child and his or her community, via WCMA cooperatives, have reached a sustainable level, WCMA will move on to serve another community in need. When this happens, you’ll be proffered the opportunity to sponsor a different child in a new community.
When you become a child sponsor, you join a family of several million around the world who share your commitment to change the world, one child at a time.
Why sponsor a child through WCMA?
WCMA's Sponsor a Child program creates real, long-lasting change for children and their communities. Our compassionate, Christian workers demonstrate God's love to all people as they help build healthy communities for children in the world's most impoverished places. WCMA partners with sponsored children's communities over the long term by developing cooperatives to address critical needs and help communities become self-sustaining.
Who is WCMA?
WCMA is a Christian social gospel church organization founded by Dr. Briggs dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty. Although our focus is to help Apostolic and Pentecostal children, our faith in Jesus and our unique approach to ending poverty motivates us to serve the poor, regardless of a person’s religion, race, ethnicity, or gender, as a demonstration of God's unconditional love for all people. In other words, when you help a Christian child, you inadvertently help all people in the community---thereby the blessings of God "rains on the just and the unjust".
Eighty-five percent (85%) of WCMA’s total Sponsor a Child donations are used to directly benefit the poor. |
