Yahushua

I recently heard a fairly well known minister say (deceivingly so, because he knew better) to his sizeable congregation one of the most unlearned and ignorant statements I had ever heard.  He said that Yahushua's name was different in every language.  But anyone with any intelligence, and especially foreigners, know that a name is the same in any language.  This is not to say that depending on the degree of difficulty of the pronunciation of any name it may be more difficult to say/pronounce than other names, but this does not change the original name and its pronunciation.

Furthermore, some languages may lack vowels that may be required to accurately transliterate a name in order to produce the correct/original pronunciation.  But again, this does not change the name or its original pronunciation.  In such cases, one may have to learn the correct pronunciation from someone else in order to get it pronounced correctly.  Such may have been the case when Yahushua's name was transliterated from Hebrew to Greek to Latin and then onward to the many languages transliterated therefrom.  Even still, this does not change the original correct pronunciation of Yahushua nor justify an incorrect propagation of it.  Because of relationship, we all need to and should want to learn and say our Saviour's name correctly.

Yahushua was/is clearly a Jew, HE was/is a "minister of the circumcision" (Hebrews), according to Apostle Paul (Romans 15:8).  And Luke clearly wrote that Yahushua spoke to Saul (Apostle Paul) in Hebrew (Acts 26:14).  The spelling of "Jesus" in English never was and never will be Jewish nor close to the original Hebrew pronunciation.

Many have attempted various English spellings (see below) hoping to get the best pronunciation of Yahushua, but my research has shown that the best so far is YAHUSHUA MASHIYACH.

Yahushua is a Hebrew name and is the properly transliterated name of Mashiyach.  The following are some examples of the many transliterated renditions of Mashiyach's name:

Jeshua, Yeshua, Yeshuah, Yehshua, Yehshuah,
Yeshouah,  Y'shua, Y'shuah, Jeshu, Yeshu,
Yehoshua, Yehoshuah, YHVHShua, YHVHShuah,
Yhvhshua, Yhwhshua, YHWHShua, YHWHShuah,
Yhvhshuah, Yhwhshuah, Yahvehshua, Yahwehshua,
Yahvehshuah, Yahwehshuah, Yawhushua,Yahawshua,
Jahshua, Jahshuah, Jahshuwah, Jahoshua, Jahoshuah,
Jashua, Jashuah, Jehoshua, Jehoshuah, Yashua,
Yashuah, Yahshua, Yahshuah, Yahushua, Yahushuah,
Yahuahshua, Yahuahshuah, Yahoshua, Yahoshuah,
Yaohushua, Yaohushuah,  Yauhushua, Iahoshua, Iahoshuah,
Iahushua, Iahushuah, YAHO-hoshu-WAH

However, the proper transliteration is explained quite skillfully at this webpage:

The above website is not endorsed by WCMA, but it does provide good information on the proper transliteration on Mashiyach's name.

What Language Did Yahushua Speak?

Given that the savior's name was Hebrew and that he himself was a Hebrew, can it be assumed that Yahushua spoke Hebrew?  And if so, one must also ask, was his disciples Hebrews and did they write the original New Testament books in Hebrew?  All very valid questions.  Click on the hyperlinks above to go to web pages that provide solid proofs on the matter.
